Good morning:
In 1976, month of May, I was a guest of the Mayor of the town of Tokar, just north of the border with Eritrea.
I was a refugee from then Ethiopian occupied Eritrea.
The Mayor treated me quite generously, allowing me to stay in a guest room in his compound, where I was provided food and shelter, free of charge, for almost two weeks, i.e. until I got the authorization to go to Port Sudan.
Unfortunately I lost a small note where I had written the Mayor’s name.
Do you think you could put me in contact with the Municipality of Tokar, to see if they have records and can tell me who was the Mayor of the town in 1976? They may have a website, but I couldn’t find it.
I appreciate your attention and I hope you will be able to help me.
Thanks and Regards,
Emilio De Luigi
