A woman killed after being hit by a vehicle in Vaughan this morning has been identified.
Nour Sulieman, 45, of Toronto, was crossing Highway 27, just north of Langstaff Rd., at around 6 a.m. when she was hit by a pick-up truck heading north, police said.
"She was north of the light. She was not in the intersection," said Staff Sgt. Brad Bulmer of the York Region Police Traffic Bureau.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Bulmer said the Sulieman was wearing dark clothes and it was dark out when she was hit, and those are being considered as factors that may have contributed to the mishap.
"Pedestrians should wear light clothes. Wearing dark colours is very dangerous," he said.
While it was drizzling at the time, wet weather is not being considered a factor, police said.
