Dear MohamedB] , Thanks for your response. I wish if my comments are in Arabic to allow more people to follow our discussion, but to answer in English is better than not to respond to your message. Glad that you have realized your grave mistake in glorifying the Ottoman Turks genocide against Armenians. This henious crimes should always be denounced. I hope you would refrain from demonizing an entire ethnic group, or a religous sect because some members of this group are taking different politcal stand than your stand or the group that you are supporting in the complex, and shifting politics of Lebanon..I personally think to glorify the genocide against Armenians is similar to the tendency among the facists in denying the occuerence of the holocaust in Europe, or to the fundamentalists in Sudan who are still denying the crimes against humanity, and the war crimes in Darfur.Itis sad to see in Lebanon, particularly among right wing Christian groups, some voices questioning the loyalty of all Armenians, and their christian values, because some of the Armenians didn't vote for Michael Elmir, Eljameel, or the Lebanese forces. Itis worthmentioning that only 2 Armenians out of 6 Armenian rpresentatives in the Lebanese parliament are members of the opposition March 8th alliance, the remaining 4 representatives are members of the ruling March 14th alliance.I also should bring to your attention the failed political record of the former president Amin Eljameel in 1980s. I would also say that Michel Elmir is also a typicl lebanese politicans and not an angel who has his shares of political flaws, and conflicting political alliances. The question is that why do some people hate the Armenians to the degree that they would glorify the shame of Ottoman empire, the genocide of the Armenians?. The simple answer is Racism. lIdidn't find any credible evidence of your point about the collaboration of Michael Auon, some major Palestian factions and Israel. I am sure that you are aware of the Iraqi shipments of weapons to Auon during the late 80s till his defeat at the hand of Syria , with American and Saudi blessing in 1990. I also don't buy your assumption that the Party of God who has contributed to the current crisis in Lebanon, is the group which was responsible for the assasination of Ellhriri, and wonder why do you jump to a conclusion, and adopting a conspiracy theory?. Your disagreement with the political views of Party of God, or hate to the Shiaa shuldn't blind your eyes. Regarding your point about that the Shiaas represent 75% of the defunct Southern Lebanon Army, allow me to disagree with you. Itis true that some of the Shiaas joined the SLA, but the majority , and the backbone of the army consists from some Maronites from southern Lebanon. In your attempt to prove that the Israeli invasion of Lebanon was popular, you have mentioned the names of two Lebanese writers , but you have deliberately thousand of Lebanese writers, intellectuals, and artists who stood tall in Jebel Lebanon, Beirut, and south Lebanon, fighting the Israeli invasion, including Maronites, Armenians etc.. Should I remind you that the bride of the south, Sana'a Mahidli, may God bless her soul, was a Christian leftist.Itis worthmenioning that the backbone of the Lebanese resistance in south Lebanon in early 1980s were members, and supporters of leftist parties, mainly the Lebanese Communist Party, and the Communist Action Oranization, and the leader of the resistance at that time was the late Abu anis, George Hawi Elshawi, another Christian who was the former general secretary of the Lebanese Communist Party Finally.the Lebanese politics is very dynamic, and there is always shifting alliances. At this time, Waleed Jinblat is emerging like his father, the late Kamal Jinblat as a king maker, and yes Jinblat, Nabih, Migati, Hassan Nasurallah, and possible Hariri, and Auon will reach a political compromise and you will see by your eyes how Nabih Bury will be elected as the speaker of the parliament ,and I can't say at this moment that the Lebanese will reach a historic compromise soon, but they will
P.S Hisham, Please ask Bakri to move this post to the next quarter. I also won't be able to participate in the coming 10 days.[
