Re: هل انت اصلع ؟؟هنا يوجد حل! (Re: عديلة المتوهجة)

The Sudanese doctor, Mohammed el Amir Sanhouri, who has made five other pharmaceutical inventions in the past, said that a combination of chemical drugs had devised since 1990 had helped hair grow on hundreds of barren scalps.

He said the drug was first experimented on animals in his lab, which showed marvellous results.

"We then started with a small group of volunteers and when we became sure the drug was successful, we started to administer it for whoever wanted his hair to grow again," he told PANA in Khartoum.

So far, he said, 1,800 persons had undergone the treatment, with 98 percent success.

According to him, the treatment duration depends on the type of hair and how old the bald was. "Some people had fully restored their hair after three months of treatment while some others needed more time," he added.

"But the maximum time a bald took to grow under this treatment was six months," he said.

"With this treatment hair usually starts to grow from the first week. Reddish hair emerges first. Then they start to blacken as the treatment continues," he explained.

To begin a treatment session, Dr. Sanhouri first rinses the affected part of the head with a series of four drugs he called: S1, S2, S3, S4 (S for Sanhouri).

Then he applies leishmanol, a drug he patented in 1996 for the treatment of wounds, especially leishmaniasis and sugar wounds.

Leishmanol was found to be very useful in the activation of blood circulation in the scalp and the removal of dandruff.

He then applies S5, another of his inventions and then adenasol another drug of his making also.

"The "S" series of drugs and adenasol contain necessary substances that nourish the hair and stimulate its growth," he said, choosing not to elaborate.

Patients are advised to apply the drug three times a week. Sanhouri insists he or any of his two assistant doctors administer the drug. Each treatment session takes about 15 minutes.

Dr. Sanhouri said genes have no role in baldness. "Baldness is not caused by genetic factors. We have found that this drug can cure all types of baldness and hair fall," he emphasised.

"All patients can be cured with the exception of those with leukaemia or tumours (head cancer)," he said. "So we can no longer speak about hereditary balding that cannot be cured," he argued.

According to him, balding is caused by fevers, dandruff (scales), medication such as cancer chemotherapy or too much vitamin A, burns, emotional or physical stress, nervous habits such as continual hair pulling or scalp rubbing. He also warns of excessive use of soap and shampoos.

After his drug was patented in Switzerland in August 1999, Dr. Sanhouri started a clinic which now attracts workers, students, businessmen, university lecturers, engineers and doctors threatened by balding.

Ahmed Hussein (24), a student of microbiology, said that after three months of treatment with the drug he recovered all of his hair.

"I have had five hair cuts so far," he boasted, saying his university mates no longer call him by the nickname "Abu Sala'a" (the bald-headed man). "They no longer say that," he said, with a smile.

Dr. Mohammed el Naeem (40), a surgeon who had started balding seven years ago, said he had tried all means to restore his hair but to no avail.

"Then the moment I started treatment with this drug I felt I was on the correct path," he said.

"By the fifth session of treatment I noted a high response. Hair fall had stopped and hair started to grow on this part of my head," said Dr. Naeem, who now wears a meadow of healthy hair.

"I have seen several persons who had their hair restored by this drug and what I can tell you now as a medical doctor is that no side effects were noted on any of these persons," he said.

"I have seen people who had hair transplants in the West who came to Dr. Sanhouri to fill in the gaps," said Dr. Naeem. He was optimistic his hair would completely return after two months.

Hamad Sadik, an office employee, said he had in the past been so embarrassed by his full-scale bald that he used to wear a wig. Heavy hair has now grown on the section of his head that had gone bald.

Hair usually starts to grow from the rear of the scalp and stretches forward. "This is because the hair on the rear is usually the last hair to fall. The last hair to fall is the first hair to grow," explained Dr. Sanhouri.

"When a hair falls, its root is encapsulated in amino acid lipids (coating). Then, as time goes on, another such capsule builds on the first one and so on," he said.

That is why hair takes longer time to grow on older bald persons. They need time for the drugs to destroy these capsules and set the hair root free," the biochemist further explained.

"I have now got rid of the wig. I am combing my hair once again," said Sadik, adding jokingly that: "I expect to 'graduate' one month from now", in reply to a question on when he expected to get all his hair restored.

A shy female university student named "Mai" said after being treated that she felt she was born anew when beautiful hair started to grow again on parts of her head which had gone bald.

"I am determined to continue with the treatment to have longer hair," she said when asked why she was in the clinic after she regained her hair.

"I am sure that I have found the lasting solution for my problem," she added.

Zahia, a pretty little girl of 10 abashed when asked to tell her story.

But her mother stepped in to say the girl was born completely bald. "We travelled abroad but nothing could help my daughter's hair to grow. Now look at this," she said, pointing to a cap of healthy hair that started to cover the girl's head.

Dr. Khalifa Alloub, a dermatologist who supervises the treatment at the clinic said at the moment he had 200 balding people under medication.

"What I can tell you is that I have never come across any non-responsive case," he said.

"And what I can also tell you is that no side effects of any kind were noted since this clinic was opened three months ago," said Dr Alloub.

Dr. Nuha, one of two doctors responsible for the drug administration, said some patients were more responsive than others were.

"But in the end all of them get their hair restored," she said.

"We are a happy clinic. All people around us are full of hope and this gives us a pleasant working atmosphere," said her colleague in the drug administration, Dr. Ayman Yasin.

"The number of patients is increasing by the day," he said. To be able to cater for more patients, Dr. Sanhouri has started another clinic at the Meridian Hotel in down town Khartoum.

In addition to Leishmanol and the anti-balding combination, doctor Sanhouri has patented five other drugs.
