 WHY??? Just wondering...

Hello all,
I have been wondering about this for a long time and I can't seem to find an answer that satisfies me. Guys, please free to answer me, if you can, and gals, what do you think?
Here's the question: why does it take guys almost no time to move on to new ventures after ending a relationship while it takes women extended periods of time to be able to start thinking about moving on.
For example, two people were in a relationship for 2 years and for some reasons (disagreements) they broke up. It took the girl almost 4 years to be able to even just think about dating again, while in 7 months the guy was engaged to be married.
Why is that??? Is it because when a women loves, she gives with her entirety?
Guys, don't get me wrong here, I am only using general rules and certainly do not imply ALL guys... cool?
