Eldindir area in the Sudan is facing a serious crisis. Eldindir is located in the South East of the Sudan, about 400 km from Khartoum. It stretches over 200 km from the Ethiopian Sudanese borders to a place near Haj Abdalla on the Blue Nile. It is a marginalised remote rural area in the Sudan that lacks basic services. River Eldindir, after which the area is named, has flooded causing serious and grave destruction. About 35 villages are completely destoyed and another 30 villages are completely isolated. The river has also drowned the many orchards along its banks as well as neighbouring farms. The affected population is about 100,000. The Sudanese Government in unable to reach them and a real catasrophy is now looming. We call upon all of you to come to the help of the people of Eldindir to avert a humanitarian crisis. Tents, covers, medicines (anti malria, castroentritis, chest infections medicines, hydration material) food and funds are urgently needed. An appeal fund has been opened with Lloyds Bank TSB.
