Millions of lives hang in the balance in Sudan.
On Wednesday, the Sudanese Government ordered the closure of International Rescue Committee humanitarian aid programs in Darfur, as well as North and East Sudan. Other aid organizations received similar orders.
This deplorable decision puts at risk the lives of 1.75 million men, women, and children who depend on the IRC's lifesaving programs. Effective immediately, refugees there will no longer have access to IRC medical care, water and sanitation services, education programs, and other vital aid.
The consequences are going to be dire.
