Dear Tajelsir You wrote Quote
/B]The late Mohamed Najib was a good friend of my maternal grandfather Dr. Mekki Shibeika. Their friendship dated back to second hlaf of 1930s when Dr. Mekki Shibeika was a principal of Berber Middle School, and Mohamed Najib was an officer in the Egyptian Army in Sudan. If Iam correct, the late Mohamed Najib used to have relatives lived in Berber City. I am sure Kamal Gasimallah, and our friends from Berber can confirm this point. Despite his illness, and the difficulties he faced in his in- house arrest, Mohamed Najib wrote to us a personal letter after the death of my grandfather Mekki Shibeika in 1980. He also asked to see members of Mekki Shibeika's family in Egypt to extend his condolences. It was difficult to get permission to see him in Egypt, but my aunt Afaf Shibeika, and my cousins Dr. Yassir Shibeika, and Abdelhalim Abu Guessisa managed to meet him in the Maraj in 1981. I hope my cousin Halim would see your post to comment about their visit to the late Mohamed Najib. May Allah bless Mohamed Najib's soul Regards
