On my first post: The intent was to refute your statement provided in the quotes. I made no attempt to go beyond that nor did I feel obliged to play along as you presumed

On my second post: I tried to answer your questions as truthfully as possible, without being directed by the obvious inference in your comments

On your last response

I. A general note – only in a utopia is information presumed to be perfect in both content and reception. Typically different people tend to have different agendas, impulses, and perspectives. They may choose to zero-on an issue or do the reverse, i.e., be generalist in their approach – I think the post, like many others, falls in this category

II. In this discussion board we all decide to partake in the manner we see fit, preferably with reciprocated civility and intellectual honesty, which means not to overburden the obvious with speculation. The Communiqué is not perfect, but it is useful on many levels, if you fail to see that I can elaborate

III. I have no particular objection to your specific recommendations (step 1-4), they are all sensible points. I will go a step further and ask that the SCP’s positions, on such pivotal issues, be outlined in a separate document. This document must also include where these opinions are being presented. Once a resolution is reached, the SCP should issue another statement reconciling any deviation

IV. I believe that the SCP has missed the opportunity to get its point across fully on many issues because it is still firmly wedded to the NDA (despite others being disinclined to do the same – DUP and SPLM in particular). On that score I think the SCP has failed to realize the full value propaganda and in this way it assumed all the liabilities of the alliance without significantly differentiating itself

V. On joining the Constitutional Redrafting Committee – I think this is a failed approach – the draft is ready and the Committee is firmly entrenched in viewing that this is an SPLM/Ingaz issue. It is very unlikely that a robust secular democratic constitution will emerge given the Committee is without any terms of reference other than the division of spoils. Those excluded are better served, in my opinion, by drafting an alternative document (or finalizing the one drafted by the NDA) and the rest should become point for debate with the people of the Sudan

VI. I don’t share in the view that this forum (the Committee) is one where inclusion of those deliberately ignored is going to make a difference unless the terms of reference are open for discussion

VII. Naivasha, in my opinion, is not a blueprint for much except the relation between those who signed it. The Ingaz remains unreformed, which suggests to me that other political forces ought to continue their work until their objectives are met. The starting point should be going back to basics, engaging grassroots by showing initiative and leadership as well as using effective and concise language – short of that - all will remain in the realm of wishes
