John Prendergast, Special Advisor to the President, International Crisis Group

Moderator: Gimena Sanchez-Garzoli, SAIS RPF and Brookings-SAIS Project on Internal Displacement
Dr. Deng recently undertook an assessment mission to Darfur in his capacity as the Representative of the UN Secretary-General on Internally Displaced Persons. He will present the findings of his mission and discuss further steps needed to alleviate the humanitarian and displacement crisis in this region of the Sudan. Mr. Prendergast will comment on the latest UN and US efforts regarding Darfur.
