Many thanks Abualbasha for an inspired article. You touched on the financial gains and I have to say this is a very important aspect on any future change in Sudan. I visited South Africa recently and I was struck by the extent to which the economic gains of certain groups during the apartheid era are still perpetuating the old divisions, frustrating the dreams and aspirations of the majority, and endangering the future of the multiracial democracy and peace. Yes there are political freedoms and multiracial democracy but there is a long walk to real equality. Unless this issue is addressed there is going to be no future for the Sudan. Sudanese need to get ready and prepare for the day the inevitable change happens. We must know what to do withing the framework of the law and sound economic judgement. We need a serious debate and careful planning in this area. We must not follow the law of the jungle but at the same time we must not allow ill-gotten gains to stand. Regards Zaki
