A very important report by the American organization Global Witness, a non-governmental anti-corruption survey that it reviewed, revealed new compelling evidence confirming how the most powerful military leader in Sudan seized a large area of the gold market in the country and controlled a network of front companies.

Leaked classified documents show how Hemedti's militia of the Rapid Support Forces purchased a fleet of nearly 1,000 Toyota pickup trucks - easily converted into high-speed pickup trucks with machine guns - that have been used to quell popular uprisings across the country for more than a decade.

The report revealed how the most powerful military commander in Sudan - Mohamed Hemedti Hamdan Daglo - and the Rapid Support Forces militia that he controls, used companies and banks based in Sudan. and Emirates.

Secret documents obtained by the NGO also revealed the purchase of a fleet of more than 900 Toyota Hilux and Land Cruiser models, which the RSF had converted into military four-wheel drive vehicles equipped with machine guns.

The report, which I reviewed, in English, revealed that the military vehicles that were used to suppress peaceful demonstrations and break up the sit-in of the General Command on the morning of June 3, 2019 are Toyota Land Cruiser and Hilux cars imported through the UAE.
This is only the first aspect of the report, which confirms beyond any doubt about the role of the Emirates and the militias of Hamidati in suppressing and burying the popular revolution and complete control of the government in Sudan..

The other dark side of the report is the control of Sudanese gold, and it has revealed how sophisticated networks of front companies based in Sudan and the UAE support the Rapid Support Forces. The documents show how Reporters Without Borders received $11 million in payments from Tradive General Trading, which appears to be a front company for the Rapid Support Forces based in the UAE, to an account apparently for the Rapid Support Forces in the National Bank of Abu Dhabi, which is based in the UAE. United Arab Emirates.

It shows how Hemedti has effectively taken over a large part of the entire gold market in Sudan, thanks to his close links to Al Gunade, a large group active in the gold and construction trade, which Hemedti and his family are owned and controlled.

Also, documents were revealed on Al-Bashoum's Facebook page, which are real, unfalsified documents about bank transaction records, and were described as leaked from "supporting companies" affiliated with the Rapid Support Forces. The leaked documents, along with official corporate records and archived copies of the company's websites, appear to show that two companies from the RSF front, GSK - a small technology and security company based in Sudan - and Tradive General Trading LLC, headquartered in the United Arab Emirates, They are being watched by one of Hemedti's younger brothers. (GSK is in no way affiliated with GlaxoSmithKline, the multinational pharmaceutical company.)

Leaked bank documents appear to show that the RSF has an account in its own name with the National Bank of Abu Dhabi (now part of First Abu Dhabi Bank). This is evidence of the financial independence of the Rapid Support Forces.

Al Junaid Gold Company is owned by three members of the Dagalo family: Hemedti's brother, Abd al-Rahim Hamdan Dagalo, and Abd al-Rahim's two young sons, while according to the document, Hemedti himself is a member of the board of directors.

The documents revealed that Hemedti controls a powerful military force largely self-financed in the form of the Rapid Support Forces, and an independent source of significant wealth. And despite being the deputy chairman of the Sovereignty Council, Hemedti's economic and military strength effectively gives him and the RSF impunity, out of control and effective democratic civilian oversight.

It is essential for the Sudanese civilian government headed by Dr. Abdallah Hamdok to have complete control over the state's general budget and over the budget of all the armed forces.

Independent financial resources mean independent militias.

The transitional government in Sudan represented by the Ministry of Finance and National Economy and other countries must move quickly to prevent the Rapid Support Forces and their front companies from earning more revenue - whether from gold, providing mercenaries, or transfers from intervening countries.

“Businesses and banks must also exercise adequate due diligence to prevent human rights abuses: they must ring alarm bells on bank accounts called 'rapid support forces' or sell dozens of pickup trucks that can quickly be converted into armed 'vans'."

In general, the days are pregnant with everything new, and we will continue later on the series of scandals revealed by the NGO regarding the issue of Sudanese gold smuggling through illegal, crooked and unofficial ways..
