Solidarity committee suggests independent committee to investigate into September demonstrations
|
Khartoum-The Sudanese committee for solidarity with families of martyrs, wounded and detainees has suggested establishment of independent committee to investigate into the killing of last September’s demonstration. The committee attributed the move to the lack of confidence in the judicial organs of the government that killed its people.
Chairman of the committee Sideq Yousif said that the families of the martyrs, wounded and the detainees have faced several difficulties to maintain the rights of their sons and daughters.
He said that they have spoken to the concerned bodies including the human rights commission on the repercussions of the case, saying that they provided these bodies with all documents. He further held the government the responsible for what happened and what will happen to the wounded people, saying that some of them are still suffering from medical conditions.
He pointed to the difficulties the families of the martyrs face especially with regard to litigating those who are involved in the killing of their sons. He added” the government refuses opening cases. Some families are likely to be threatened by security”.
The Justice Ministry denied yesterday formation of investigation committee into last September demonstration. The undersecretary of the ministry Isam-Eddin Abdelgadir told the parliament that his government has considered what has happened as sabotage
