    Manager, Investment and Treasury, Bin Jarallah Group of Companies-Riyadh 28/04/2007-To Date

    Bin Jarallah is one of the biggest private groups in Saudi Arabia. The company has substantial investment interests in the Saudi, gulf and world markets. The company invests in real estate across the globe directly and indirectly, local, regional and international equity and in the derivatives markets both locally and internationally. The portfolio of the company is well above US$2 billions invested across three continents.
    Responsibilities discharged:
    • Managed the company portfolio along defined risk and return parameters, with the view of achieving targeted return for a given acceptable risk level.
    • Reviewed the company portfolio of investments to insure that the risk and return remain within the desirable levels.
    • Kept abreast with developments and events in the local and international market and assessed their impact on the portfolio performance and the risk and return profile and recommended actions when necessary.
    • Studied and analyzed investments opportunities and reported recommendations to management.
    • Arranged for funding of the various investments from banks, partners or the public.
    • Negotiated the terms of structured investment products with banks and made recommendations for management.
    • Provided technical support for management to understand the various products offered by banks and international investment firms.

    CEO, SECONDED MEMBER-ARABIAN RECAB TRADING CO LIMITED1/1/2006-31/7/2006

    RECAB was an ailing business with huge debts to bankers, suppliers and staff and distressed liquidity and the only option the company had is to be liquidated or sold or somehow merged with another strong company.
    • The appointment in this position is suggested by the American team which was appointed to take RECAB as a public company into the NASDAQ stock market.
    • Managed and coordinated the entire floatation process with the assigned American team. Prepared all the technical documents as required by the NASDAQ authorities.
    • Prepared all the filings required for completing the process.
    • Completed the floatation and the company is currently traded in nasdaq.
    • Following floatation I attended for the share management.
    • Managed the company news, transactions, plans strategies etc. these are price sensitive information which I was keen to provide for the market on regular basis.
    • Concluded the deals with creditors and investors by swapping their debt for equity in the new company.
    • Arranged creditors meetings and rescheduled company debts with banks and other creditors based on forecasted company cash flows.
    • Engineered and implemented a large scale and comprehensive company downsizing to reduce costs and improve the efficiency of operations to enable the company to meet its new commitments and grow naturally and realistically in the market.
    • Restructured the company financially and managerially so that the new structure will facilitate the achievement of the objective.
    • Executed few mergers and acquisition of assets for equity.
    • I resigned my job with RECAB for regulatory reasons.
    • Remained consultant for the board for six months before quitting completely.






    FINANCIAL CONSULTANT, DAR AL-MURABAHA TRADING COMPANY, RIYADH 1/7/2004 – 1/1/2006

    • Provided financial advice to the business proprietor and help him to make financial decisions for the group of companies he owns, among them is the Arabian RECAB trading company mentioned above.
    • Dar Al-Murabaha is unlicensed fund management firm which managed to collect over SR250million of private money by way of MURABAHA to invest in various projects.
    • reviewed the feasibility studies of projects presented for the company for finance to make sure that the figures therein and the assumptions against which they are estimated are realistic and that the liquidity, assets and profitability indicators are healthy against preset criteria to minimize the risks.
    • Identified the potential risk elements in the project and alerting management in advance to them together with providing alternative intervention actions just in case an intervention action is needed.
    • Monitored overall business risks by diversifying investments, designing and applying strict financing criteria and monitoring client business closely through periodic management reports to spot any weakness in the business performance chain and the detection of signs of business failure at a very early stage.
    • Engineered financing solutions. Many projects do not lend themselves directly to traditional financing, so an inventive and innovative approach is always needed.
    • Hedged company loans, cash flows, assets, investments and profits against various market risks using various hedging techniques.
    • After a year and half doing this job I was transferred to Arabian RECAB Trading Company to oversee the floatation process in the NASDAQ. The transfer was based on a new contract and a new package.
