Kenana holds general assembly meeting without Managing Director
|
Khartoum-The General Assembly of Kenana Sugar Company held a meeting at the premises of the company in Khartoum on Wednesday without the presence of the managing director Mohamed Al-Mardi. A previous meeting has failed due to banning Al-Mardi from entering the company.
The meeting was co-chaired by the minister of industry and representatives of the non-Sudanese share holders who earlier protested the relieving of Al-Mardi and insisted on his presence a matter that predict further differences in the biggest successful Arab investment in Sudan
Representatives of Kuwait, the Arab Authority for Investment, the Arab Organization for Investment and Agricultural Development and other share holders were present at the meeting.
The Economic Affairs Panel in the Parliament has affirmed that the minister of Industry Al-Simaih Al-Sideq has the right to relieve the managing director of Kenana Sugar Company, saying that the priority of choosing the managing director of the company is the responsibility of the headquarters state not the shareholders.
