Sudan agrees to provide oil fields in S. Sudan with electricity
|
Khartoum-The oil companies in Khartoum and Juba agreed on Monday to provide unity oil field in South Sudan with electricity supply from Heglig in Sudan in order to support the resumption of the oil production.
In the same context, an official source in the Sudanese ministry of electricity has affirmed readiness of Kosti station to sign a memo of understanding on cooperation in areas of electricity and spare parts in collaboration with the two specialized companies in this regard with the use of Port-Sudan Port to import the spare parts.
The two countries have agreed to increase production in the oil fields in the Upper Nile state in South Sudan to 250 thousand barrels a day.
