Egyptian exports banned from entering Sudan
|
Khartoum-Cario-The Egyptian Chamber has urged the Minister of Industry and Trade to solve the crisis of the exports to Sudan. The Food Industries’ Chamber at the Union of Industries in Egypt has said the security has stopped the movement of the Egyptian exports to Sudan on the joint borders without mentioning any reason while the movement of the imports from Sudan to Egypt is still continuous. Almasry alyoum has said that the stop of the Egyptian exports from entering Sudan has made over 300 trucks to remain at the dispute border area of Shalatain, referring to the concerns by the Sudanese importer who struck agreements with the Egyptian exporters due to this mysterious situation.
The newspaper said that the Industries’ chamber has also received a complaint from the Sweets Department on the stoppage of the exportation movement to Sudan and called on the ministry of industry and trade to interfere to solve the crisis. The exports of sweets from Egypta to Sudan are estimated at 700 million pounds. The chamber stressed the necessity of reconsidering this issue quickly so that Egypt would remain in the market.
