Sudan’s First Vice President invites his South Sudanese counterpart to visit Khartoum Khartoum-Sudan’s First Vice President, Ali Osman Taha, has extended an official invitation to his South Sudanese counterpart James Wani Igga to visit Sudan to attend the first meeting of the Joint Higher Committee between the two countries, to be held in Khartoum in the coming days. Sudan’s Foreign Minister, Ali Karti, said on Monday that invitation comes under positive convergence between Juba and Khartoum after the recent visit made by South Sudan’s president to Khartoum. Karti revealed the ######### of the two Stats and the head of African Union High-level Panel Thabo Mbeki have signed a letter jointly addressed to the international community for debt relief, development support in South Sudan and lifting the unilateral economic sanctions on Sudan. Sudan Interior Minister, Ibrahim Mahmoud, has received an invitation from South Sudanese counterpart to visit Juba to discuss many issues between the two countries, including the four freedoms agreement and establishment of border crossings.
