Born in Syria, she became a true citizen of the world, finding her settle in New York City, since 1998, after travelling all over the globe. Hala Al-Faisal is a multitalented artist performing in various type of Art Fields. Her love for painting drove her technical quest to experiment with various techniques: acrilic, pastels, watercolor and oil. A woman who loves life, who writes, sings, acts, dances and plays the piano. A woman who loves the sun but her best friend is the moon. The moon is always faithful to her, following her wherever she goes... always wise and understanding. Hala is really concerned about the unfairness in the world, the homeless who sleeps in the streets of NYC and the Mexican workers who don't have any right, for all those who cry in Palestine, in Africa and South America. One of her impossible dreams is to become very rich in order to turn all miseries and unfairness of the world into a paradise. Hala has a talented charming son who also lives in NYC.
She speaks many languages, arabic, russian, french, spanish, german and english.
She has studied at the Damascus University, Syria. BFA in Visual Communications (1983), at the Moscow Cinema Institute, Russia. Cinema, drama and animation (1985/89), at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris, France. Drawing and painting (1994/95), and at the Art Students league, New York. Painting and sculpture (2000).
She is currently working on a movie project about her life between New York and Damascus.

OTHER ARTISTIC ACTIVITIES: She played a leading role in a documentary film on the Islamic cities of Samarkand, Khiva and Bukhara, 1988. She also played a leading role in the feature-lenght film "Chronicles of the Coming Year", Syria, 1984. She produced an animated film, "Night Thief robs the Day Thief", 1989. Music is an old passion, she studied at the Conservatory of Damascus, Violin at the tender age of 10 to 13 years old. Lately she has been studying Soprano Singing at the Koncervatorium in Germany, 2001.
Ms. Faisal has taught art and lectured on art history in Damascus and New York - Brooklyn Museum, BAM.
She also taught arabic language at the New York University from February 2004 until February 2005.
