قد أورده في المنبر الحر بتاريخ 10/11/ 2003م وقد كان أمينا للموقع أنذاك ..وقد جاء تحت عنوان : ( سودانيزأون لاين تدعو الجميع
للتضامن والعمل على مساعدة السودانيين بلبنان ) .. وهو يحكي عن أوضاع السودانيين في تلك الدولة العربية التي ربما لم يخطر ببال هؤلاء الاخوة ـ حين التفكير بالسفر اليها بانها لن تكون بتلك الصورة
التي وجدوها حين الوصول اليها والعيش على ترابها .

The Plight of the Sudanese People in Lebanon
November 5, 2003
The situation of the Sudanese people in Lebanon is very disturbing. We received many calls from Sudanese people in Lebanon that they are facing sever human condition, such as detentions without charges, deportations, and other inhuman practices. These merciless treatments are practiced equally for those has authorized residents and to those who do not have authorized residence (undocumented residence).
There are many brutal practices against undocumented Sudanese residents in Lebanon. They do not have equal access to civil services such as health care, and other humanitarian services. The sad part is, they do not have consideration or recognition from NGOs, in Lebanon, and even sometimes from organization like United Nations. Recently, we learned about the horrific case of Yagoub Adam. Mr. Adam is a Sudanese citizen living in Lebanon with his family. Mr. Adam lives in Lebanon as unauthorized resident with his wife and his three children. As it happened, his house was burn and one of his children burned inside the house to the death, and the two other saved, but the youngest one in a bad condition. He took him into the American University Hospital (AUH) in Lebanon for a medical treatment. The hospital required from Mr. Adam the amount of $8000.00 US, for the treatment of his son. With respect to Mr. Adam’s income, the amount is extremely high. Although, Mr. Adam do not have rights to claim any medical support from Lebanon health care system to treat his child. Mr. Adam contacted many NGOs, in Lebanon for help but no one respond to him. The sad news was, the child died inside the American University Hospital due to luck of medical treatment, on November 2, 2003. With respect to Mr. Adam’s tragedy, the American University Hospital refused to give him the body of his son for the reason that he did not pay the amount in question( for his late son’s treatment) which is $8000.00, US.
There are many undocumented Sudanese resident in Lebanon are treating badly in the detention centers as well. Many of them spend years or several months in jails/ prisons without having basic rights to contact their lawyers, fair trials, or medical treatments. Some of them are tortured to the death. As an example, we received information that one Sudanese citizen by the name of Mohammed Salih was hold incommunicado in Romia Central Prison of Lebanon. Lebanon security personal moved him substantially into different detention centers. After hey kept him in Security of Lebanon (El Amn El Am) for while, they moved him back into the Central Prison of Lebanon where he severely tortured to the death in October 12, 2003.
As indicates, the situation of the unauthorized Sudanese people in Lebanon is horrific. In this respect, Darfur Diaspora Association urges the international community to take close consideration to the inhuman situation of the authorized Sudanese residents Lebanon.
