الاعزاء فى المنبر الحر كنت اود ان افتح بوست خصيصا لهذا الخبر ولكن سبقتونى اليه وهذا هو الخبر كما وردنى عبر الايميل Further Information on Ethnic Profiling3: Fear for Safety, Torture and Incommunicado Detention
January 30, 2004
1- Tarig Abulgasim Seifeldien Semmein (m), 25 years old, Graduate from Al-Ahliah University, Khartoum- Sudan 2- Mohamed Abulgasim Seifeldein Semmein (m), 23 years old, Student at Sudan Science and Technology University, Khartoum-Sudan
Along with the human rights deterioration in Darfur, the Sudanese security forces have detained many members of Zaghawa, Masalit and Fur ethnic groups. The above names were arrested in Umdorman- Sudan on Friday January 30, 2004. According to Tarig and Mohamed’s family, the security personal came in Toyota-pickup, on Friday around 5:30 pm, local time to their house no. 27, block 2, in hai-Alwaha- Umdorman, and took Tarig and Mohamed with them to general security detention center in Khartoum. Darfur Diaspora Association (DDA) fears that the detainees might be tortured; do not have access to their families and lawyers. Therefore, we urge the International community to intervene immediately to rescue the life of the above-detained peoples; and appeal to the Sudanese government to bide by its commitments under Article 9 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR); and not to respond to the conflict in Darfur by violating international human rights and humanitarian law.
