Nubians Or New Tribalism
Hi Tirhaga,
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year Independence Day. As a believer for the New Sudan I would like to comment on the hot issue tackled by Bashasha about Nubians or new tribalism. First it is obvious that the Identity of all Ethnic groups in Sudan should be respected however minorities they are. As the Integration of the existing Tribes and these groups are the homogenous of the New Sudan.That is why I disagree with the conclusion of Bashasha that just mentioning their sources will be devastating to the Integration and Unity of New Sudan. I agree with you as mentioned by some Historians, that Manaseer and Shaygia are Nubians. Moreover there are some connections between some of Gibal Elnuba Minorities and Sikout, Mahas and Halfa groups and speak the same Language or Dialect. Twice I heard the same Dialect. First in Sudan University, and second in El Obied Rest House hearing two women talking to each other in both cases. That was also confirmed to me by the Linguistic teacher, Mohamed Kuku from Nuba Mountain in discussions in Toronto. I do not know how Prof. Ali Osman thinks and his approach to the Nubian Community, but the refreshment of the Historical Background should never go beyond that. Besides the Separation of State is not an Issue and should not be. These people are similar to the other existing Ethnic groups, simple, peaceful and can easily socialize and integrate in the unity of New Sudan.The Northern Sudan is the most neglected Province during Numeri and Engaz ruling. That is why it the least populated Province now. Besides they did a good job in the establishment and Integration of the New Sudan. Nobody will forget the efforts of the Sudanese Intelligentsia who belt the bases of the Integration of the New Sudan, including the Intelligentsia of the Northern Province. E.g.-
Prof. Mohamed Omer Bashir. Ustaz Gamal Mohamed Ahmed. . Mohamed Salih Ibrahim. Khalil Farah. Dr.Gaily Abdel Rahman.Dawood Abdel Latif. Mohamed Tufig. Mohamed Betek. And Others
The Livers: - Prof. Mohamed Ibrahim Abu Salim. Dr. Mustafa Mohamed Abdel Magid (Linguistic). Ustaz Mohamed Osman Hassan Wardi. Ustaz Mohgoub Sharif.
And many others are all for the Unity of Sudan.
So the doubts and horrifying issue of recreation of Ethnic groups to separation of State is not an issue and will not be. But still the Ethnic groups should be encouraged be respected, leaded and directed to the Unity of New Sudan
