Faculty of Dentistry
The Faculty of Dentistry was founded in 1963. A major contributor to postgraduate dentistry, the Faculty consists of a Board and over 1000 Fellows and Members throughout the world.
The Faculty is responsible for the maintenance of the highest standards of postgraduate training in Ireland and in other centres around the world, most notably in the Middle-East and Gulf region, through the provision of programmes and examinations at Membership and Fellowship level.
The Irish Committee for Specialist Training in Dentistry (ICSTD), a Standing Committee of the Faculty, is the body responsible for approving specialist training posts in Ireland and for advising the Dental Council regarding satisfactory completion of specialist training.
The Irish Committee for Primary Dental Care (ICPDC) is a second standing committee of the Faculty set up in 2008 to deal with training in the primary care sector in Ireland. This is a broad based committee reviewing the training needs in primary dental care in Ireland منقول من موقع الزمالة
