Full name : Mohammed Osman Wardi
Nationality : Sudanese ( Nubian )
Wardi is a musical legend in Sudan. Having begun his professional career in 1959, he is recognized throughout the African and Arab world.
Mohammed Wardi's contribution to the music of the Sudan, the African continent and the Arab world has been recognized by numerous medals and honorary awards from the presidents of several countries. His awards have included " Best singer in Africa" and " Best singer in Sudan, as well as numerous certificates and other recognition. He has performed traditional Sudanese melodies, Nubian melodies, in addition to his own compositions on dozens of television and radio broadcasts worldwide. His credits also include numerous major festivals and life concerts.

Wardi is famous for his original compositions of Nubian and Sudanese music, as well as his ability to bring new life to traditional folk songs. A master in the use of the tambour, lute and other folk instruments. He has conducted extensive research into Nubian traditions, providing him with both personal gratification and inspiration for his music.

Mohammed Wardi has a deep commitment to the Sudanese people, and has always struggle for justice, freedom and peace. His efforts have been formally recognized by the family of deceased human right activist Pablo Neruda, awarding him the Pablo Neruda Medal for his struggle for human rights.
Wardi has demonstrated his passion for human rights not only through his music, but also as founder of the Sudanese Human Rights organization (1992).
He has also been active in community service while serving as president/member of the Sudanese singers' Union, as well as a member of the Arab Musician' Union.

For the last ten years Mohammed Wardi has lived in Cairo, London and is currently living and working in Los Angeles California.
While in Los Angeles he has worked at Holly wood Studios on recordings of his latest and most inspired compositions, which inevitably explore Sudanese traditional music with modern instrumentation.
