Amnesty International is concerned that Abu al-Ghassem Ahmad Abu al-Ghassem, Sudanese national, is at imminent risk of being forcibly returned to Sudan by the authorities in Saudi Arabia. If sent back to Sudan, he may be at risk of torture, incommunicado detention, and unfair trial.
Abu al-Ghassem Ahmad Abu al-Ghassem, a political opponent of the Sudanese government and member of a faction of the Sudan Liberation Army, an armed political group in Darfur that did not sign the Darfur Peace Agreement, was arrested by the Saudi Arabian security forces on 26 September at his home in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, where he lived for 28 years. His place of detention is unknown and is believed to be detained in incommunicado detention.
