وفى boston globe نفس عام إتهام خليل إبراهيم الى ثورة السودان الجديد بأنه محاولة لأستدرار العطف بهدف
ضضعاف روابط الوحده بين ابناء الوطن الواحد 2002:
ART REVIEWAfrican art brings themes from 'A Continent Away'By Cate McQuaid,
Globe Correspondent, 4/19/2002OWELL - The Brush Art Gallery has deep roots in
this city, and the exhibitions mounted by the executive director and curator,
E. Linda Poras, often do more than simply reflect and celebrate the diversity
of Lowell's population. They teach, and they open doors to the wider world
and to personal contemplation. ''A Continent Away: Multiple Identities in
Contemporary African Art,'' now on view, got started when Poras noticed how
many African immigrants have settled in Lowell in the past decade.
African art is as varied and distinct as American art. No wonder: Africa is
three times the size of the United States, with 52 countries and thousands of
dialects. Poras aims to demonstrate that diversity.
The artists in this show make work that addresses questions of personal
identity, social and political upheaval, and contemporary aesthetics. Some
borrow from ancient traditions, but create work that speaks to today's
concerns.
The only thing that unifies these artists is heritage. But even without a
thematic anchor, ''A Continent Away'' succeeds because of the consistent
strength of the work.
The Sudanese artist Khalid Kodi's installation ''Resisting and Speaking to
the Silence'' is aimed at those who have remained oblivious to the genocide
in Sudan.
Kodi suspends translucent banners from the ceiling. Blotted with bloody red
paint and charred with smoke, they brush together and whisper, appearing to
conjure up images of starving men and women, stooped and emaciated, fading
like figures in a dream.
They hang in front of clay tiles imprinted with small hands and embedded with
domestic items - bits of rope or basket.
Bright red sculptural elements project from the wall: a spear, a vessel shot
with copper-headed spikes, a painting with a checkerboard path, vanishing
into red fumes. It's a harrowing testimony to the dead.
Paul Stopforth, a white South African, makes sculpture and drawings that
depict figures neither black nor white, neither man nor woman.
The sculpture ''Crossing III'' has two such figures embracing, in what could
be a dance or a wrestling match. The tension of opposites is suggestive of
love - or war.
El Shafei Mohamed, who is Sudanese, offers color portraits of women in tribal
dress. Their spectacular outfits imbue the women with certainty and elegance,
but their eyes, often set above ritually scarred cheeks, are usually
downcast.
Kalidou Sy of Senegal makes work that refers back to a Malian technique
called ''bogolan,'' in which natural materials are used to dye cloth.
''The Man From the South'' features scraps of burlap and clay on canvas,
hovering over the shadowy figure of a man who gazes out with huge, mournful
eyes. He appears to have risen from the dust.
Alfousseiny Kelly of Mali creates paintings that seem to have been created
from red mud.
His ''Accident/Occident'' is an abstracted landscape, a mesa deconstructed
into blocks with thick, built-up paint and bold lines. Kelly blends
traditional means with a modernist sensibility.
Gera, of Ethiopia, and Issek, from Cameroon, (each has only one name), offer
paintings with strong, colorful design elements; their work recalls stained
glass.
Issek's dancing, complex painting ''The Game of the Fish'' looks like a
mosaic. Heavy lines define the outlines of fish, one blending in with the
next, interwoven with human figures. Multicolored flecks of paint glitter
like light off water over the whole piece.
Modou Dieng from Senegal makes large, scrolled collages of cityscapes. He
pairs each with a poem, a practice I frown on, because not many good artists
are also good poets. But Dieng's poetry has a jazzy rhythm that fits his
dancing urban grid of painted blocks and columns of newsprint.
Didier Kouassi's wood and batik screens stand nearby, fitting with Dieng's
palette and geometry but considerably more peaceful in mood.
Finally, Jill Solomon of South Africa thinks back to the black women she knew
as a child and pictures them walking through tall grass, with bundles on
their ######### and jewelry emphasizing their long necks. In tribute, Solomon
offers abstracted ceramic figures, fired to a luscious, smoky red hue, that
capture the regal elegance of these long-necked women.
Poras also commissioned the filmmaker Wesley Issac Richardson to make
''Africans in Lowell,'' a video of which runs on a loop in the gallery.
Finishing touches like this draw a straight line from African immigrants to
the greater themes the artists in this show tackle.

مايصفه خليل ابراهيم بمحاولة إستدرار عطف المجتمع الدولى هو إبادة عرقية راح ضحيتها ثلاث اضعاق ضحايا الابادة العرقية الجارية الان فى دارفور.
والعام 2002 ليس تاريخ قديم!!!!
المشكلة هى أنكم باصواتكم العاليه و بعصابتكم العاطله و الجاهله فى هذا المنبر تريدون أن تطرحوا نفسكم أبطالا للسودان الجديد، وهذا غير ممكن.
ليس لديكم ماسيدعم ذلك...أقل مايمنع هو السياسة القذره التى بدأتها يادكتور يشار صقر هنا.
نريد أيا منكم أن ياتينا بما هو موثق بأنه لفظ "الجيم وورد" من قبل أن نلقنها له، و"الجيم وور"د تعنى الجناسايد، أى الأبادة العرقية.
