I agree with the above responses. Serious topics not necessarily being of political nature. Arts, social subjects, ecnomic related issues...etc are all serious topics that need to be addressed and discussed. The board as its name bears is for discussion and discussion means give and take in the area of the topic being discussed. I noticed sometimes the follow ups have nothing to do with the topic under discussion. I think for mild topics and wanassa the best place will be chat rooms or e-mail serives. The board is a mirror that reflects the intelectuality and responsiblity of Sudanese who are fortunate to have access to this uncenssored media. If someone doesn't have a topic that seems beneficial he can simply spend his/her time reading others' post and if possible he/she can reply to them. Some people, I noticed, keep posting every five minutes when their earlier posts didn't have reponse. This isn't an ego thing. Some posters are so kind and nice and keep replying to every follow up thanking them for the comments. We always critize our former elites for being hypocrite and unattached to our problems but we are worse than them.
