Salam أبو ساندرا Thanks for reminding us about the real issue here. Turabi crimes against the people of Sudan are many but if we are serious about democracy and human rights then we must not be selective. Turabi, like any other criminal, should not be deprived of the rights we need to ensure that we build a civilised country and society despite the fact that he did not observe them when he was in a position of power. Turbai should be subjected to the rule of law for what he did to the Sudanese people but it is wrong to have him in detention for the convenience of few people when they are capitulating to America. Turabi's current detention is part of Ali Osman-Bashir dance to America and the day they are sure Bush is not going to send some fire crackers their way they will release Turabi. At the moment it is convenient to keep him in detention and claim that support for terror was his alone and not theirs. There is no excuse for violating the basic rights of any human being. Regards
