Call for Peace and Tolerance A group of Juba University graduates, from different batches, have met. This group of graduates have been motivated by the social responsibility towards our nation issues in this current and critical situation that our country passes through. This group believes in the principles of Juba University that call for peace and tolerance. We recognise the great role played by Juba University in enhancing peace; coexistence and creating conducive environment for coexistence between the various cultural, religious and racial diversities exist in our country. While we call on all the Sudanese, we recognise the following: (First) Conducting South Sudan referendum to choose session or unity is a human right that has been recognised by the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA) and Sudan Transitional Constitution (Second) We urge that the South Sudan referendum to be conducted in peaceful atmosphere and to be democratic, free, transparent and to be conducted according to the international standards to achieve peace and stability in our country regardless the option of South Sudan nation. (Third) We recognise the privilege of Juba University and its leading role in serving the Sudanese community. We hope that this role to be enhanced in the future and to protect and respect the rights of Juba University Students and staff. (Fourth) We express our deep gratitude for Juba University that provided us with knowledge and enabled us to live in mature coexistence environment. We confirm that we will be loyal to Juba University regardless the outcome of the referendum and we hope that this will be decision of all the graduates.
