During his address, the JSR emphasized that UNAMID will remain in Darfur to continue its mandated operations of protecting civilians, ensuring that humanitarian assistance is provided to those in need and finding a political solution to the crisis. · The Russian Special Envoy to the Sudan, Mr. Michail V. Margelov, paid a one-day working visit to UNAMID Headquarters in El Fasher, North Darfur, where he met with the Deputy Joint Special Representative, Mr. Henry Anyidoho, Deputy Joint Special Representative for Operations and Plans, Mr. Hocine Medili, Deputy Force Commander, Major General Emmanuel Karake Karenzi and other senior officials. DJSR Anyidoho thanked the Russian Federation for the role it has played in the establishment of the Mission and the support it continues to provide UNAMID.
