Khartoum, Jan. 12 (SUNA) - The National Assembly, chaired by the Deputy Speaker, Ayesha Mohamed Salih, approved in his sitting on Tuesday reports of its health committee on the two statement of the Minister of health and the Minister of Environment concerning performance of their ministries in the year 2014 and their plans of the year 2016.
Deputy of Parliament, Samia Ahmed Mohamed, has called for adopting a project of investment in the health field due to the lack of funding.
Deputy of the Parliament, Mohamed Mussad, said that the Ministry of Health have no enough funds, calling for the settlement of medical diagnosis by upgrading the Central Laboratory.
The Minister of Environment and Urban Development, Hassan Abdul - Gadir Hilal, affirmed that the Ministry has worked out since the year 2013 a plan for implementing the sanitation project, pointing out that the project is now at the Ministry of Finance and called on the National Assembly to intervene for speeding up the funding for this project.
The report on the statement of the Minister of Health has recommended providing of the full budget of the ministry and importance of establishment and rehabilitation the major reference laboratories and provision of foreign exchange to import medicines as well as the settlement of drug industry and control, besides expansion of the basic health care and providing saving life-saving drugs.
The report on the statement of the Minister of Environment the Ministry and its plans called for speeding up the issuance of laws and applying deterrent penalties against those each one who cause damage to the environment along with payment of the subscription of Sudan in the international and regional organizations.
