Mohammed al-Hassan Ahmed and Inferiority complex
|
I was reading an aricle in al-rayaam daily in which Mr. Ahmed tries to analyse the consequences of the break-up of the Sudan, as we know it. His analysis points to our neihbors who would surely help themselves to the spoils that follow such a break-up. He points to all our neighbors except Egypt. , This must not have been due to oversight, but to the fact that our northern brothers have an inferiority complex when it comes to Egypt and the Egyptians. All Sudese know very well that Egypt has swallowed large chunks of Sudanese territories since independence, and Mr. Ahmed does deliberately not include Egypt among land grabbers, because of the fact, in his view, whatever Egypt robs from us is its legtimate right and cannot be considered as a land grab. But if Kenya keeps a parcel of land that was given to it by the colonialists before the independence of the two countries, then Kenya is illegally occupying Sudan land. If Mr. Ahmed does not see the occupation of Haleib by Egypt, for instance, as illegal, then how do we justify this attitude by our northern brothers when it comes to Egypt. In feriority complex, pure and simple!!
