On 28 December 2003, the National Security Agency (NSA) arrested Madawi Ibrahim Adam, 47 years old, human rights activist, Chairperson of the Sudan Development Organisation (SUDO), a locally registered NGO, and Consultant Engineer with Lamda Engineering Company. He remained in detention at an unknown location and his wife made a request to see him on Tuesday, 30 December 2003. The following day, he was allowed to call his wife briefly to inform her that he was well and requested some clothes. Mr. Madawi has not been charged and no reason was given for his arrest.

1n the year 2000 and in an small jet plane flying from Bentiu to Khartoum there were only 2 persons , a man reading a book and myself! I felt curios and also a bit bored of looking through the windows as this I have flown many times in that plane. so I was hunting for a moment to chat to this friendly(he was chatting and laughing to some people before the takeoff) important youg man(I knew the Unicef jet brought him, landing for 4 hours waiting to take him back to Khartoum in the same day!). when that moment came we had a chit chat: -Salam,Iam Eisa -am Mudawi Ibrahim -am a doctor working for the French MSF (Doctors' Without Borders -am a mechanic engineer and a university lecturer -yes I did my PhD in Nasa -am from a village in Kurdofan 'called' Semeih. -Iknow Semeih, am from Umzoogi(smaller village nearby ! as the world is always small for Sudanese. it eneded up that Dr. Mudawi was a classmate and friend of my mother brother(Farah Obeid). tIt Sad to to hear that, in essnce of the peace talk, still the goverment is continuing to violate the human right in spacially in Darfur. I Strongly support the campain to release Dr. Mudawi and all the other political detainees.
