Re: A Civilized Request to All Honorable members (Re: Mustafa Mahmoud)

ٍSalam Dr Mustafa
I support your plea, but we also have to face it: we are not civilized enough to use this forum appropriately, that's the truth. Decades of fighting, blood shed, and millions of deaths all attest to this. That ugly side of Sudan that's soaked in prejudice, hatred, and intolerance is welll reflected in our virtual world, just like it is in real life
This place is nothing but a sample of the Sudanese society - if there's such thing- with all that it entails. To expect this board to be any different at this point in time is a form of unrealistic optimism (being hopeful is certainly good though
Our discussions, agreements, and disagreements may become civilized one day, but only when we become civilized as a society and as a nation
It's a much bigger job, I'm afraid
Regards to you and respect for rejecting the status quo

Dear NAJWAN your response is fantastic, that is why i support every word of your reply. but remember we have to start to learn how to be civilised other wise we will never be i do agree we had enough since 30/6/1989 but these people lasted long because some of us ran away and let them steal and destroy the whole country . if we become civilised enough to accept each other then we will succeed look what is happening in south Africa at least it is a beginning . i think if we do not learn to accept each other we will never win and be a nation let us make this space a small example of acceptance, tolerance and then all work towards the new Sudan those thieves and those who are corrupted will be exposed and then dealt with with all my Love and respect Mustafa

Salam again Dr. Mustafa
I agree with you, we have to learn and take the effort... change is worth it
What I tried to say is that it's a big task. The values you called for are much needed, though they need to be coming from within, they need to be sincerely fostered and endorsed by each individual in our society - virtual and other wise-, or else the issue becomes short-lived and one of utter facade
I hope to see more of the good examples on this forum, some of whom are rather disappointed to point of becoming detached

Dr. Mustafa Thanks so much for your goodwill message. may i suggest a better way to stop personal fights? let us boycot those posts. completely ignore them till the people take their personal fights to their personal e-mails. As long as we keep visiting them they will continue becasue our visits mean that there is demand for nonesense. You can preach till you are blue in the face but addiction to this stuff cannot be treated by soft talking there has to be an action. I never visit any of those posts if the subject line is telling what is awaiting me inside and if the subject is deceiving it is one visit and i am done. Boycot Do not Ask thanks again.

Re: A Civilized Request to All Honorable members (Re: Asma Abdel Halim)

dear Asma thank you very much for your support your suggestion to boycott the posts which contain personal insults is very reasonable, but the question is how do you know without the first visit that it contains personal insults? our aim here is not to ignore these personal insults but to stop them completely.
the best way is that we need to learn to respect each other and have some tolerance for the other view god bless you dr Mustafa Mahmoud

Dr. Mustafa First of all let me take this opportuinty to wellcomed you to this board and secondly thank you so much for your initiative proposal which I am fully support it, even though I agree with Najwan when she mentioned ( The place is nothing but a sample of the Sudanese Society ) the only thing I can say, we should take our discussions and disagreements to a higher level of understanding and respect other people opinions even if we are not in favaour of it and not make it personal issues to criticized and fight, and if we adhere to this methods and place our thoughts and ideas properly then the board will be better for all of us
thank you once again

there came many posts with the same idea , the problem is those who are "attituding" like quarrelling and make personal stuff popular , will continue to do so , this is a matter of personal behaviour , I guess this is too hard to be changed with a post, two or ten ... but we are behind every good invitation to take ourselves forward

Quote: i find this very sad and very uncivilized that two or more members stay fighting in a post about personal issues |
with due respect, i don't see any personal fighting here people differ, and as they differ they express their differences and viewpoints differently
I call for more arguments and more disagreements and differences whatever the language people use to express these different points of view
I am not at all squeamish about the language used because this is life
Did you know that some very respectable English newspapers allocate weekly pages for people to rant about different issues Rant means to say whatever they like and offend whoever they like
long live freedom of expression

dear Adel thank you very much for your nice and helpful post i did appreciate what you suggested iam not telling any one here what to write or how to write it but iam asking people when they are discussing personal grudges not to put it in public here but to use the personalised e-mail
service and let us all enjoy reading a civilised any form of posts regardless of what they contain
no one need to insult any one to prove point if you rant too much you loose your argument but if you rant a little you may get away with it
LONG LIVE FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION
by the way i do not read tabloids in UK to get the facts from them but i read them if at all to see how issues are manipulated by the establishment and some time learn from them too akhouk mustafa Mahmoud

Welcome to the board
This is a very ambitous idea
few before you tried hard to solve it
success was never on their side
sorry for the gloomy look I am giving, but i doubt that anyone could break this cursed

I am backing you anyway
a miracle might happen
