We Strongly Believe the War should be Stopped Immediately, Eltayed
Introduction: National dialogue is one of the most important historical event throughout the history of Sudan, all Sudanese are gathering in Khartoum to debate how Sudan should be ruled, and what is Sudan, patriotic Sudanese from Canada, US, Australia and from Europe are participating in the ongoing national dialogue to set for permanent constitution and peaceful country based on democracy and freedom.
Q: Who is Eltayeb؟ A: I am Eltayeb Rahama Grayman, I was born in 1960s in small town in upper Nile State called Geiger which is now part of the South Sudan State, the history of the town goes back before the Turkish invader tom Sudan, I received my primary education in that town, and then I moved to Kosti for my junior education. My high education completed in Kassala, because those who get high grades they send them to study in the north in 1984 I got my high diploma, after that I travelled to Egypt because I was accepted to study in AL Azhar University, I got bachelor in education in English and literature. He told Sudan Vision that he introduce himself as Sudanese without referring to a certain place, ethnicity or tribe, because I strongly believe that the entire people of this country should be introduced as Sudanese, he demand for disregarding “any kind of belonging’ particularly if we talk to the public or media or whatever. Q:The identity؟ A: for a long time we have been discussing to come to a definition to our identity to define who is the person belong to this country whether it is Arab, African or something in between, my definition is Sudanese as we are called around the world specially in the middle east we called Zoul because it refer to Sudanese and that my definition, regardless their religion, tribe colors or place of birth, all are Sudanese whether they speak Arabic or none Arabic. Q: The objective of the group؟ A: First of all I should stress on one main point, that we are a group of activists, we come together and talked about the dialogue that is started in Sudan, we come to an agreement that we have to come together to prevent the war, so when I say the war I mean the war that between the government and armed movements, between tribe and another, the war that takes within the tribe, we strongly believe the war should be stopped immediately and the fighting parties should come to an agreement, so the best way out is the dialogue is to talk about the problem try to find solutions, try to solve and settle the entire situation, we talked about this and we said OK. Let us go to Sudan to stop the war between the tribes specially the big war in Darfur and in some part of the country, we come to an idea to be mediators to persuade the conflicted parties to come to an agreement, our group came here to solve the problem or at least to stop the war, the idea was developed specially after the initiative issued by the president of republic of Sudan Omer Hassan al Basher who invited the all to join the dialogue (we said it is OK. Let us go and join the dialogue and to be parts of the committees to give and reflect our experiences, knowledge and our being abroad for years, so we named our group “AL Manafy” an Arabic word which means exile, some people look at it as a negative word, because some of us chose to go out somewhere due to a result of something happened to him or her and then left, and after years or more than two decades of exile, we decided to come back to be part of the dialogue in Sudan, I believe that we can make some difference because we different ideas, visions, scenario and strategies in order to solve the problem at least between the fighting parties in Sudan, and that is our main target to stop the “war” so I want say that we are not a political party, we are representing ourselves”. Q: Warns؟ A: Because of war Sudan was divided into two countries, he warned that if Sudanese not settled their difference that same thing can be happen in Darfur or in Blue Nile. Our main mandate is to stop the war and to get all parties to set down for the dialogue to solve the problem of the country, our vision and main objective is to get the war stop first, after that we can agree upon how the country should be ruled, I do believe if the government and fighting parties, oppositions whether a political parties or individuals if they are very keen for the interest of the country they should stop the war immediately and come inside the country and talk to the government, they look that the government holding authority army and everything, but they can’t kill all the opposition leaders”. Q: Invitation؟ I would urge all those who are abroad they must come inside to negotiate, talk and speak to the government, because if we don’t stop the war we can solve the problem, fighting should not be continued, a lot of innocents are killed, we want to prevent the bloodshed regardless when and how. Q:Patriotism: A: Eltayed explained that %80 of exiled people is very keen to come home “I have been abroad for a long time and most of our group live in a luxury but they prefer to stay at home” also he briefed that he has a government position in Canada and now he is working for that government in Saudi Arabia as a consultant in the field of education and training, our patriotism as Sudanese is one of the main reason behind our participation in the national dialogue, he assured that if you asked them do you want go back to Sudan؟ their answer is “Yes” they always connected with Sudan we call them exile because, I feel that I belong to Sudan, feeling of belonging to homeland to the mother land, this feeling is very “strong’ I understand that Sudan is a third country but at the end is our homeland, unless we come together and united we can’t build our own country.
Q: Politics is it a dirty game؟ A: some people believe that to be a politician you must play a dirty game, but I think you have to believe in patriotism and you have to feel that you have to build the country and to destroy it, they have their own agenda, if their hidden agenda about Sudan, they will come, it is not a secret to say that those who refused to come they will come very soon and they will be part of it this what I do believe in, I strongly believe that the president of Sudan is telling the truth when he said he going to apply all the outcome of the dialogue, he assured that his group will support the president if he applies the recommendations, so we can come and try to spread that Sudan is a democratic country, and we are waiting to see the outcome of the dialogue. They extended the dialogue for another month, I do believe that important to extend it for second and third month, it is not necessary to hurry, it is better to extend it and in the end all the fighting parties may come and to be part of it, they can provide their ideas from inside is better than to be away. So extension is a good thing, it is an opportunity to come and to participate in solving problems because national dialogue is “very important event throughout the history of Sudan” as a part of the committees I discussed and deliberated two main lectures in the committee of freedom and fundamental rights, I get response from the audience from the participants, and I believe we are doing good things. Q: The challenges: A: The challenges that face the national dialogue is a lot of the participants are politicians, so unless academic be parts of the committees base ideas on certain principles, it is not of argument that your right and I am wrong and vice- versa, it is a matter to set a layer for the next generation to come therefore people should have a personal political parties or movement agenda they must have national agenda for everybody, they should have to come together to push the dialogue. Q: The message؟ Q: I think I have two main messages, firstly, Sudan is one of the richest countries in the world, there are a lot of resources all over the country, we have to adhere the country not to be divided again, unity is very important because if the country is united everybody will get the basic needs, I mean schooling and constructing a curriculum for those who not got a chance to go to governmental schools and the number is huge, other part of basic need is the health care, because in some part of the country pregnant women die because of lack of health care, also the fresh water to drink and shelter. My second message, the government mustn’t arrest, detain or stop people because of their opinions, unless they commit any crimes they should not be researched, those who arrested because of their political activities or opinions they should be released a right away and immediately, when that happen the national dialogue will continue peacefully and going to have very good outcomes and will be able to gather united and to apply the outcomes, I have to mention certain names, “I heard to the two young activitsts Arwa and Emad Al Sadiq they are part of Umma party at the moment are being arrested, if they didn’t commit crimes should have to be released immediately, if the reason is political opinion, he a journalist and founder of Al Rakoba electronic newspaper” “Walied Al Hussein was detained Suadia Arabia, we need udan to urge Suadi authority to release him and set him free to decide everywhere to go, theren are other one of them is a journalist calld Abu zar AL Amin and Shihab Eldeen Karar, he is my colleague and friend he is disappeared, also professor Omer Harron also disappeared some are talking that Shuhag Eldeen AL Amin disappeared too, they must released immediately.
