Altamas for Peace and Development Association (APDA), in collaboration with sons and daughters of the area, are inviting you for its second consultative conference
The conference will explore impacts of the war in south kordofan on peace and development.
The topic s for discussion include:-
1-The role of international community in developing Africa to elevate the poverty, with (special ) reference to the situation in south kordofan estate in term of stopping the war and assisting in humanitarian aids
2-the future of the popular consultation in south kordofan
3-the important of the development as the tools for helping the peace coexisting between the tribes in south kordofan
4- The impacts of south Sudan secession towards Altamas areas.
5- The cause and consequences of the war in south kordofan

Altamas for Peace and Development Association
INTRODUCTION
Altamas is the area between south Kordofan and Northern Baharalgazal of Sudan. The civil war in south Sudan which lasted for twenty years has left negative effects in these areas, particularly social and economic issues. Thus, lots of efforts are needed to focus on peace and development, through promoting culture of peace and improving the quality of life. To achieve this goal, Altamas for Peace and Development Association was founded with mission and objectives below:-
MISSION
Altamas for Peace and Development Association is both a non profit and non political organization. Registered in November 8, 2006 in Alberta, Canada, it is dedicated to bringing together tribes and communities in Altamas area, through mediation, peace building and development projects.
The Objective of Altamas for Peace and Development Association
• Altamas operates both locally (Canada) and overseas (Sudan)
• Altamas works to improve the social conditions, and to reduce the level of poverty in the Altamas area
• Altamas encourages nomads to settle in the Savannah areas by solving the water problem mainly during the dry season through boreholes that yield plentiful water to satisfy domestic needs of a settled population and their herds.
• Altamas Association plays a significant role in preventing disputes among the tribes in Altamas area (south kordofan) of Sudan through cultural of peace, joint development projects, workshops and conferences.
• To provide human development and community mediation for its members in Alberta particularly Women and youth through workshop, seminars, indoor and outdoor activities.
