 Ramadan 2009 - The Iftar Program

Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Assalamu Alykum All! ... All praise is to Allaah.
As, most of you know, Sadagaat is just a group of people encouraging each other to give charity by supporting different projects during the past years, and by the blessing of allaah we are doing well, and we are continuing our effort and maximized during the Blessed month of Ramadan.
The Iftar Program in Sudan went well for the past years except that some of us sent their contribution late, and we are not able to utilize it properly. We would like to ensure that every family gets the distribution of the Iftar package right before or at the beginning of the month of Ramadan. However, since there are lots of preparation needed, we really encourage every one to send his/her contribution this year as early as possible, we found it is very helpful if you can communicate your contribution amount in advance, since we can do of the most packages from start which save a lot of the total cost, time and effort in the packing and distribution. Please, act as quickly as possible to ensure the out most benefit of your contribution.
Ramadan expected to start on the 21st of August, so we are looking to have all the contributions collected or at most be communicated before the 10th of August, as it takes time to buy the items and make the necessary weighting and packing and start with the delivery few days before Ramadan.
We kindly asking you to spread this message within your family members and friends
Last Year with Allaah blessing we are able to distribute little more than 1,100 packages for a total cost of around $50,000, and we asking allaah to make it easier on us to serve at least the same number of families
The Package from last time is been adjust based on the feedback we got from the receivers, and few items are removed and increasing the quantity for the Sugar and Kisra Flour.
The Package contents and quantities:
1. Sugar 15Ibs ( last year was 10Ibs)
2. Flour – Kisra 6Kg ( last year was 4Kg)
3. Flour – finaa 2Kg
4. Oil 3 liters
5. Tea 1 Ib
6. Onion raw 2 Malwa ( used to be 1/2 Kg dried )
7. Balilaa adsiaa 1 Malwa
8. Waika 1/2 Kg
9. Tomato Paste 1 bottle
The total cost include beside the items above, the logistics and accessories needed for packing and delivering the packages , and it is estimated to cost around 90SDG - $40
The same people from last year will be availalble to collect the contribution towards this program, and if it is your first time, please let us know, and some one will assist you based on your country of residence.
May allaah accept from all of us the good deeds and make it sincerely to him.
Please remember our friends/family members who passed away, and we asking Allah for their forgiveness, and grant them a place in the Paradise, ameen.
