1. Do students in the Sudan determine what their major program of study is going to be (or do the teachers or adminstration Actually I studied in a Universoty which was said to follow the American system in Sudan as per Semester and courses ( That is Gazira University) but for the oppurtunity to choose the time of the course or the program that was already set by the concerned college staff approved by the University Body.
2. What are the most popular majors in the Sudan Medicine still comes at the top of the list, followed by engineering and computer sciences as I think.
3. Are the advantages of getting a college degree similar or different than in the US I think almost the same with some addition in Sudan, as getting a degree will raise the socioeconomic status and this maybe the most desired advantage in Sudan.
4. What motivates the people to get a college degree in the Sudan? Gettings more knowledge in desired field. Finding a stable job and raise the socioeconomic status. Approving oneself in family and society.
5. Describe the average classroom lecture. (Do the students participate or listen only? This depends on the lecturer and the session. Some will choose to talk and student listen and others will prefer to give most of the talk to the students and their participations. This if we excluded the sessions of group discussions and groupworks where student are the mainstay.
How long is it? Are there breaks? Can you eat and drink in the classroom?) Most of the time 45 min per session with breaks. During class eating or drinking are not strictly prohibited but no habit of doing these during class.
