Brother Jok I'm not optimistic at all. These reported clashes in Northern Bhar El Gazal State are part of a larger chain of events. There is every reason to believe that the National Congress Party has opted to re-ignite a small-scale but costly malitia warfare on the borders of the South to compensate the political blows it took from the just ended crisis with Sudan Liberation Movement. These clashes will soon come to Abyie and then to the Unity state in the Upper Nile region. A government of Sudan Murley backed malitia has alraedy proven formidable in the Jongley State and the resulting insecurity situation in that state is already causing the SPLM/A to re-route much needed social,economic and infrastructural resources to protect innocent civilians. This is exactly what the NCP wants to accomplish: exhaust the SPLA/M and the infant GoSS-interrupt all humanitarian work and the resettlement efforts. It might not work but we should be alert.
