The leaders of the Sudanese opposition parties gathered under the Sudan Appeal Forces had a meeting at the French Parliament in Paris on Wednesday, with several French MPs.
The meeting was headed by MP Daniel Oroaedo of the Committee on European Affairs, MP Noel Mamere, and MP Cecil Duflo, member of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Parliament and the former Minister of the Environment of the French Government.
El Sadig El Mahdi, president of the National Umma Party (NUP) addressed the meeting on behalf of the Sudan Appeal Forces.
El Mahdi said in a statement to Radio Dabanga that the aim of the meeting is to reflect the efforts of the forces of Sudan Appeal to achieve a comprehensive peace and complete democratic transformation.
He said that the French position at all levels is in support of fair democratic peace. France supports the Sudan Appeal Forces o to achieve the legitimate objectives of the Sudanese people.
Sudan Liberation Movement-MM leader Arko Minni Minawi, called on European countries to avoid falling into the trap of providing support for the Khartoum regime in order to secretly combat immigration, as it has primarily been responsible for the displacement of the Sudanese people.
He said the removal of the Khartoum regime and laying the foundations for a political solution in Sudan is the only way out for the issue of immigration.
Abdelwahid Mohammed El Nur, the head of the mainstream Sudan Liberation Movement confirmed the priority of stopping the war, adding that peace cannot be achieved without security and freedoms.
