Khartoum, Dec. 31 (SUNA)- The National Assembly, chaired by its Speaker, Prof. Ibrahim Ahmed Omer, Thursday approved a report of the Defence and Security Committee of the assembly which was presented by the committee's chairman, Gen. (Police) Ahmed Al-Tuhami in response to the statement which was presented in last October by the Minister of Interior on the security situation.The assembly's report has appreciated the efforts being played by the police forces for keeping security and reducing crimes.The report also appreciated the role of the police forces in detection of weapons and drugs, calling for efforts to reduce these crimes.Meanwhile, the committee stressed the importance of providing basic services to the displaced people for encouraging their voluntary repatriation.The assembly committee' report has appreciated the efforts of the police forces in securing the voluntary repatriation villages in Darfur states.The committee has called for reactivating application of the Act for Combating Human Trafficking and organization of the criminal and security work at the refugees' camps.The report praised the role played by the police forces in securing the recent elections and ending the security threats at the borders. أحدث المقالات
