Government, UNHCR seek ways of providing shelters to Sudanese returned from Chad

03:47 PM February, 15 2016 Sudanese Online Sudan News Agency-Khartoum-Sudan My Library Short URL Al-Fasher, Feb.15(SUNA)-State Minister for Interior, Babiker Ahmed Digna, Wali(governor) of North Darfur State, Abdul-Wahid Yousif Ibrahim and the visiting delegation of he United Nations High Commission for Refugees(UNHCR) discussed , Monday, at headquarters of the Government of North Darfur State Government in Al-Fasher ways of providing the Sudanese, estimated at 60,000 persons, who returned from Chad with shelters.
Digna said in a statement to SUNA, that he meeting sought ways of provision of shelters, drinking water, as necessary and urgent needs for returnees at their areas, indicating that provision of such support will encourage for eventual return and stability.
He added that he UNHCR has agreed to provided such support to the returnees, besides provision of food stuff for the coming six months.
