Sudan’s ruling party coordinates with UMP on the political issues and the national dialogue

Khartoum-SudaneseOnline- The political secretary of the ruling National Congress Party (NCP), Dr. Mustafa Osman Ismail, has revealed on composition of a Joint Committee between his party and the United Umma Party (UMP) to coordinate on the political issues and developments in the national dialogue, pointing out that the two parties have agreed on the national constants and in particular the elections and the national dialogue and pushing the political process in the country. In press statements on Friday, Ismail explained that the of the Joint Committee has emerged from a bilateral meeting between his party and the head of (UMP), Ahmed Babikir, adding that the two agreed on many issues including the selection of the States governors instead of elect them raised the National Assembly, and holding of the elections on time and support of the national dialogue until it reaches its destination. The opposition National Consensus Forces and the National Umma Party which are not part of the process demand to ensure political freedoms, postpone the 2015 elections, release of political detainees and inclusion of rebel groups. In this regard, the 7+7 Steering Committee agreed to develop a methodology that ensures timely sharing of critical information with the Sudanese nation, including through regular interactions with all Sudanese stakeholders.
