The topic I am going to open may be sensitive to many but I believe we need to examine our attitudes in an open and serious manner.
1. These days there is a big furore over the issue of the beauty queen Miss Trinidad and Tobago and her wearing of a bikini. The outcry is based -according to the claims- on the fact that her father is a Sudanese and Muslim. At the same time we hear nothing about Miss Egypt or Miss Singapore.
2. Many of the cases of child abduction in UK involves Muslim fathers who take their children from non-Moslem women to their countries of origin in order to avoid having them growing in a non-Moslem environment. According to the norms here most of those who married non-Moslems spent sometime with them as boyfriend and girlfriend with all what the concept entails.
3. Many Moslems drink alcohol but when it comes to food they always buy Halal meat.
4. I saw many shops advertising Halal fish meat and also selling yoghurt with the word Halal printed on the container.
5. Many Moslems who are preaching against "Riba" maintain deposit accounts in high street bank with no connection to Islamic banking practices, something practiced by the so called Islamic banks whose deposits are resting in Swiss and other Western banks.
I am giving these examples and I hope we start a serious discussion about these contradictions.
My apologies for not writing in Arabic as my Arabic typing skills are non-existent and the title took me a lot of time to type. I will appreciate any advice on software that teach Arabic keyboard skills.
