ISTANBUL, June 3, 2005 (KUNA) -- Turkish Businessman Khayriddine Yojah announced here on Friday that he will walk from Istanbul to Sudan in solidarity with the Sudanese people.
At a press conference, Yojah said he is marching to help those suffering from misery and hunger, noting that the journey will begin in Istanbul through Syria then Jordan, and will end in Darfor in Sudan.

The businessman said that he chose Sudan because of the two-decade civil war that killed over two million people and made millions others homeless.

"Although there are merciful and honest, individual and group efforts made to relief the suffering of people in western and southern Sudan, these efforts are still not enough".

"We should not sit aside and watch others cry, suffer, and wait in a state of misery, we should at least share their suffering and should make sacrifices for them", he added.
