UNESCO allocates funds to support technical and technological programmes in Sudan
Khartoum, March 23 (SUNA) - The United Nations Education, Sciences and Culture (UNESCO) has announced allocation of a considerable fund to the implementation of technical and technological programmes in the Federal Ministries of Science and Technology and the Higher Education and Scientific Relations besides supporting the research in water, irrigation and solar energy
This came when the Minister of Science and Technology, Dr. Eissa Bashari, received at his office Wednesday the Director of UNESCO office in Khartoum, Seidi Beih
The meeting set up a joint committee to boost cooperation and coordination with regard to the implementation of the programmes agreed. The UNESCO also extended an invitation to the Minister to take part in the General Conference of UNESCO next October
The Minister commended the role of UNESCO in supporting Sciences and Technology in the countries of the third world, particularly in the Arab and African States, adding that the two sides will boost their cooperation in aspects of scientific and technological inventions under the auspices of the UN
