Bio-fuel experimental production launched in Sudan 
	 Khartoum, April 13 
(SUNA) - The Minister of Science and Technology, Dr. Eissa Bashari has launched 
at the Energy Research Center Wednesday the national project on the production 
of bio-fuel from the Jatropha tree
The minister witnessed the phases of the bio-fuel production from the 
harvesting stage through refinery to the laboratory experimentation on a fair a 
mount of vehicles, tractors and generators. The experiment proved motivating 
success made several ministries, governmental institutions and private companies 
declare their readiness to engage in smart partnerships with the Ministry of 
Science and technology to drive the project to the model application stages for 
commercial product that would meet domestic consumption and beyond it 
exportation
Dr. Bushari called on all concerned bodies to consider this project their 
first economic enterprise leading the state into international arena and 
providing opportunities and orientations on production and consumption of clean 
energy. He said bio-fuel was expected to meet be 25 % of the total quantity of 
the world consumption in energy by the year 2025
Member of the National Commission for Bio-fuel Energy and Supervisor of 
the Model Farm of Jatropha tree at the National Centre for Energy Research Prof. 
Ibrahim Saeed Mohamed, has meanwhile, affirmed possibility of cultivation more 
than two million feddans with Jatropha tree in Sudan , to help produce the 
bio-fuel
