Taha Launches Project of the Substitute Taxi in Khartoum State
Khartoum, Feb. 12 (SUNA)- Vice - President of the Republic, Ali Osman Mohamed Taha, Saturday inaugurated the project of the Substitute Taxi at the Exhibitions Area in Khartoum
Taha delivered at the inauguration ceremony the first taxi out of 150 taxi cars, as the first batch, to the citizen Jamal Sid-Ahmed
The project aims to enhance the shape of the taxi cars in Khartoum State and the economic and social conditions of the taxi owners
The Substitute Taxi project is co-sponsored by the Social Development Institution in Khartoum State and GIAD Company
The Wali (governor) of Khartoum State, Dr. Abdul-Rahman Al-Khidir, said that the Substitute Tax is one in a series of social development projects that will be implemented in the state
He said that the project aims to distribute 1000 taxi cars in the current year 2010
The Minister of Social Welfare in Khartoum State, Ustaza Amira Al-Fadil, said that launching of the Substitute Taxi Project comes as part of the celebrations marking Sudan Independence and Peace Days
She said that Khartoum State has obtained a good experience in implementing -funding policies, appreciating the cooperation of the Bank of Sudan with the state in this connection. MO/MO
