President Al-Bashir: ICC decision will not change any thing in the plans and programmes of the government
Khartoum, March 5 (SUNA) - President of the Republic Field Marshal Omer Al-Bashir has affirmed that the decision of the International Criminal Court (ICC) will not change any thing in the plans and programmes of the government. Addressing the leaders of the political parties and the society at the Guest House Thursday evening, President Al-Bashir said the government will press ahead with all steps of peace and fulfill all commitments to peace and will conduct free and fair elections. The President said the situation now is not targeting a particular person or a government but the whole Sudan, pointing out that what has happened is one of a series of plots against Sudan that aim to prevent the country from becoming a model for freedom. The President reviewed the tireless efforts exerted by the government for realizing peaceful solution to Darfur problem. He referred to the failure of the West to fulfill its pledges including writing off debts of Sudan, lifting sanctions and providing support for rehabilitation and construction in case the Sudanese sign the Abuja agreement.
