A Ukrainian vessel seized by Somali pirates off Somalia last week is carrying tanks and other weapons destined for a client in Sudan and not Kenya as announced by Nairobi, a US military spokesman said on Monday.
"We have a report indicating that the cargo and the shipment was headed to Sudan," said Nathan Christensen, spokesman for the Bahrain-based US Fifth Fleet said.
Asked who the weapons were destined for, he replied: "I dont want to speculate.
